My Uncle, Henry Paul "Mac" McCain, was Chief Gunner (so I am told)on the Maryland. He was on board from her commissioning in 1921 until she was decommissioned (He was about to retire at the time of Pearl Harbor).

If anyone remembers him I would appreciate any information they may be able to provide. He died in Seattle, WA, in 1975.

Hello BJ Murphy:
I last saw you at the "Mary" Reunion,I think it was in Long Beach California and would you believe I have forgotten the date!! Of course that comes with age, I suppose. I was a shipmate of yours and another "Bostonian" by the name of John Taylor. Do you know John? If so I would like his address. We were in the 6b division with Boatswain Mate First Class Lenin. During the PH attack I was the gunner on the 1.1 Machine guns, starboard side, under the bridge. Please contact me as I have many questions for you. I was known by many shipmates as Alley Reynolds, I suppose that is short for Alabama. My Addres is Glenn W. Reynolds,

My father, Daniel F. Spengler, was aboard the Maryland during WWII. I was wondering if anyone out there remembers him and could tell me more about him. Thanks.
Donna
